Microsoft came looking for a mouse pad design to give to their Product Support Services division who had just been recognized as #1 in the industry. It was to be cool, energetic, and include a pull quote from Computer Weekly.

Design Hovie Studios created a bold design with a large 1 and ran the Computer Weekly quote across a blurred, electronic technical image. The design made for a proud reminder that the Product Support Services at Microsoft were, indeed, number 1.
